Regulations on Returns and Refunds

1. Return Period

Consumers have the right to request a return within seven days of receiving the goods. During this period, consumers can unconditionally request the merchant to accept the return without stating any reason. Beyond this period, consumers’ right to return goods will be restricted to some extent, and they need to state valid reasons. Therefore, when purchasing goods, consumers must understand the merchant’s return and exchange policy to avoid being unable to return the goods after the deadline.

2. Product Quality

Merchants are responsible for product quality issues. If the goods have quality problems such as damage, deformation, or color difference, consumers have the right to request the merchant to accept the return or provide an exchange. Therefore, when purchasing goods, consumers should carefully inspect the product quality and raise any quality – related issues on the spot. Meanwhile, merchants should strengthen the control of product quality to ensure that the goods meet national quality standards.

3. Refund Methods

Consumers have the right to request a full refund or a partial refund. A full refund applies to special situations such as product quality problems, while a partial refund needs to be determined through negotiation between the two parties or in accordance with legal regulations. Therefore, when requesting a refund, consumers should negotiate with the merchant or understand relevant legal regulations to avoid disputes. At the same time, merchants should also comply with relevant legal regulations to ensure that consumers can receive a full or partial refund in a timely manner.

4. Enterprise Response Measures

Enterprises should comply with relevant legal regulations and actively respond to consumers’ requests for returns and refunds. First, merchants should carefully review consumers’ reasons for returning goods. If the reasons are valid, they should process the return application in a timely manner. Second, merchants should improve after – sales service and provide consumers with better services such as consultations and guidance. Finally, merchants should establish a sound return and refund system to effectively safeguard consumers’ rights and interests.

5. Legal Liabilities

The Civil Code also clearly stipulates the legal liabilities of merchants and consumers. For merchants, if they engage in illegal acts such as false advertising or product quality problems, they will be subject to legal sanctions. For consumers, if they engage in malicious returns, blackmail, or other improper behaviors, they will also be subject to legal sanctions. Therefore, both merchants and consumers should comply with relevant legal regulations and jointly maintain market order and fair competition.
